Q: Why do Black people wear NASCAR jackets when they do not watch NASCAR, Don't know who's jacket (driver wise) they are wearing or even drive fast.

Black people do drive fast, are you crazy!? lol. They drive just as fast as anyone else, if they are young and male. But I guess they wear the NASCAR jacket because for some reason, it does look a little gangsta when they wear it, whereas a white person in a NASCAR jacket just kinda looks like a redneck. Sorry white people, you're still cool, but uhh. Black people just have the style for it.

the same reason asians are allowed to wear polo without knowing how to ride a horse, or how latin americans are allowed to wear nautica without knowing the first thing about sailing. ITS JUST CLOTHING!!! WHY DOES IT MATTER????

I guess it really doesn't matter. It's not my Grandma's pension check that got cashed to pay for a $100 NASCAR jacket. I just care that some of that money keeps paying for Sunoco racing fuel and Goodyear Eagles.

There is nothing wrong with black people wearing NASCAR clothes. If they like the style, fine! I've been attending NASCAR races for 20 years, and there have always been a small number of black race fans. I wish more black people would get involved in racing, both as drivers and as spectators.

I'm a white NASCAR fan and it makes me smile to see black people wearing NASCAR jackets. The bright colors and oversized fit are similar to a lot of urban outfits anyway. When I go to NASCAR races and I see black fans, such as I did at Charlotte recently, I try to make them feel welcome if they are sitting next to me. I'm honored when black people show interest in what is such a white sport. Whether they know it or not, black people have a piece of NASCAR heritage too. Wendell Scott was a great driver who overcame overwhelming odds to win at NASCAR's highest level. He was treated so badly, but he never backed down from staking his claim in stock car racing.
